About us

EP Fiume Santo is part of EPH (Energetický a průmyslový holding), one of Europe's largest privately owned energy groups, based in Prague.
The plant covers an area of approximately 153 hectares overlooking the Gulf of Asinara, in Cabu Aspru, in northwestern Sardinia, in the municipalities of Sassari and Porto Torres.

The plant is a strategic energy infrastructure for the island, contributing significantly to the continuity and security of electricity supply for households, businesses, and essential services. The plant consists of two coal-fired units with a total net capacity of approximately 600 MW and an average annual output of over 2 TWh. Thanks to its predictable production capacity, it is considered essential for the stability of the regional and national electricity system, in a geographical context marked by limited interconnections with the continental grid.

EP Fiume Santo is one of the main industrial players in north-western Sardinia, con un impatto occupazionale rilevante: oltre 400 persone lavorano quotidianamente nel sito tra personale diretto e aziende dell’indotto, contribuendo allo sviluppo economico locale e alla crescita delle competenze professionali.

The company's soundness is also confirmed by its position in the economic dossier “Top 1,000 Sardinia,” produced by La Nuova Sardegna in cooperation with the University of Sassari and the Sassari Chamber of Commerce, which ranks Fiume Santo among the top companies in the province and among the leading regional companies in terms of turnover.

The company is also focused on the future through the “Fiume Santo Energy Park", a potential sustainable multi-technology hub designed to ensure Sardinia's electricity security and production and employment continuity even after the coal phase-out, through a mix of low-emission technologies.
